The Last Pearl

The inspiration for this short film came from a short manga-style comic strip I made in my senior year of high-school.  Because it is in a manga style, it is read from right to left.

I had recently seen the Pixar  short film 'Bao'  and found the idea of bringing food to life intriguing. However, I wanted to make a much more light-hearted storyline.

If you've had boba before, you know that every time you finish the tea, it's difficult to get the last few pearls.  Thus, the idea of a mischievous, evasive, and sentinent pearl was born.
 

Creation

'The Last Pearl'  was a semester-long solo project in my freshman year 3D Pipeline class. Every part of it was done and controlled by me.

This was my first time creating a short film, so it was definitely a challenge to navigate the programs and learn how to manage my time to stay on track with the schedule.

All modeling, UVing, rigging, texturing, animation, and lighting was done by me.
